Free Symphonic Orchestra virtual instrument

I came across a post in a forum today about an offer from EastWest/Quantum Leap for a free version of their Symphonic Orchestra virtual instrument.

In return for completing a short survey, you can download the Play Edition of the virtual instrument for free. Use the link below for more information and to get started on the survey.

I’ve not had a chance to give it a test drive yet, but I hear that the Symphonic Orchestra sets are amongst the best available. If you do like it, there is an option to upgrade to the Gold, Platinum, or Platinum Plus versions at a discounted price if you order before the 31 January 2010.

There’s a great article written by Thomas James Slater on the Shockwave-Sound site about orchestral MIDI arrangements. Thomas makes mention of the EastWest/Quantum Leap instrument in the article. Check it out here.
