I’ve been experimenting with different ways of writing music, and this is my first all software production using FL Studio 9. It’s a very different way of producing music but I’m quite happy with the results – need more practice though!

If you are reading this blog and can see the "Blogger" banner at the top of the page, then I haven't yet fixed the design "issues" with my blog page!

Following the withdrawal of their FTP publishing feature, which allowed me to host the blog content on the same server as the rest of my site, I have had to make use of Google's hosted service. Problem is that, in doing so, I now have their banner at the top of my blog page!

It can be removed, but because I'm using an older design template I've got some work to do before that can be done.

If you can't see a banner across the top of the page then I've obviously managed to fix it!

Free Symphonic Orchestra virtual instrument

I came across a post in a forum today about an offer from EastWest/Quantum Leap for a free version of their Symphonic Orchestra virtual instrument.

I’ve not had a chance to give it a test drive yet, but I hear that the Symphonic Orchestra sets are amongst the best available. If you do like it, there is an option to upgrade to the Gold, Platinum, or Platinum Plus versions at a discounted price if you order before the 31 January 2010.

Project 2020 featured in new iPod/iPhone game!!

Head over to the iTunes store to purchase Entranced – a new game by Monstrous – which features the track Project KOKA by Project 2020.

I believe the game may also be finding its way to the Nintendo Wii at some point as well – I’ll be sure to post an update if and when it does!

New song – Party People

Looking back at my blog, it looks like it’s been almost a year since my last new song. It’s been a struggle finding the time to do anything new, but here’s the first of a few new songs I hope to finish over the next few months.

It’s called “Party People” and it’s the first hip-hop track with vocals that I’ve produced in a few years.

As a result of this deal, you can now purchase licenses to use our music from a number of Internet sites including Shockwave-Sound, iamusic, Revostock, Audiosparx.com, ProductionTrax.com and more.

Only a small update. I've removed some of the content that's not relevant any more. And I've also added a new flash music player to the downloads page to make accessing samples of Project 2020's music easier (and to make it easier for me to make it available!!).

There are a few more changes to make, along with an announcement or two. But that's all for now!!

Artistlaunch page

I'm currently working on migrating the collection of music hosted on the Artistlanch site to MySpace. Since my subscription has now ended with Artistlaunch, you will only find a couple of songs on the site now.

I'm hoping to have the move to MySpace completed in the next couple of weeks, and I'll post an update just as soon as it's done.

Spread across HipHop, Dance/Trance and Funk/Soul genres, there should be something for pretty much everyone to listen to and enjoy!!

Welcome to Project 2020's new home for 2006!!

Having been producing music mostly as a hobby for many years, the past couple of years have seen the hobby evolve in to a business. 2006 in particular is proving to be a good year with a variety of projects under way keeping me busy! There are some particularly interesting projects in the works - keep your eyes on the site for more information.

I hope you like the new, simplified (and hopefully more professional!) look of the site.

IMPORTANT-Spam Email

Well, it would appear from the growing number of "failed delivery" emails I'm getting for emails I most definately did not send, that some nice person has decided to borrow my domain to send spam emails.

I would like to assure anyone that receives any of these emails (mainly advertising fake business information) that they did not originate from Project 2020. They can easily be identified by the email address which is usually a random name @project2020.co.uk, quite apart from the fact that they have nothing to do with music!!

I am unfortunately a little powerless to stop these emails now they have started although I am doing what I can.
